 Servant Appreciation

“But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them.  “You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.  San whoever of your desires to be first shall be slave of all.  For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.  Mark 10:42-45.

Because the vision is greater than any one of us, it takes each of us working in our respective gifts to accomplish the mission of Roosevelt Heights Church of God in Christ.  Under the direction of Pastor John W. Penton, with the support of his administrative staff, auxillaries, and ministries, the church ministers to the needs of the congregation and community at large.

Driven by divine purpose and the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we will do even greater works as we continue down this path.  As we grow, so does our level of responsibility and the need to build one another up; provoking one another to good works.  This is not just a casual observation, but a mandate from God.

Pastor implemented the“Servant’s Appreciation” Awards  to encourage and provoke in the spirit of Love and Unity.  This is not a competition or Who’s Who contest, but a way of saying thanks for allowing God to use your talents.
